Restored by Duncan Reddy Manchester. A specialist in architectural salvage for over 35 years.
Whether you're looking to add a touch of history to your home or simply appreciate the beauty of antique fireplaces, this stunning mantle combination cast iron fireplace is a must-have.
It was likely cast between 1900- 1910 and is a wonderful example of British architectural heritage which would typically have taken pride of place in an small drawing room. It is made of solid cast iron in lovely condition.
The ironwork is rich, with a splendid bird canopy over the opening, giving hints of the Edwardian design style. The richly decorative ironwork continues around the body, which is elegantly finished off with a set of hook on bars.
During restoration we retained the original , mantle, grate, and flue damper.
We've replaced the fire stone, and added a new fire stone for those wishing to use it as an open fires again.
We've finished the fireplace in traditional black grate polish, that gives it a gunmetal sheen and highlights the ornamentation or the casting
