Scotia bedroom Combination fireplace
The Scotia Victorian combination grate. The casting of this cast iron combination grate is exceptionally fine which enhances the carved details. This was a very popular design in the Victorian period . It is finished with traditional grate polish . Circa 1884.
This fireplace was manufactured by W & A.C. Russell & Company of the Scotia Foundry , Pendleton near Manchester , the design was registered 14th March 1884
This original Victorian fireplace was removed from a period property in Cheshire.
The iron has been blacked and polished in the middle, and primed white around the surround.
This item has a made to measure damper, blackened with the same grate polish.
There is a fixing lug on each side, under the mantel, for fixings for attaching the fire to the wall.
